At BrickFair, I had the privilege of building some sets for Steve Witt's LEGO Group display. I grabbed a few photos while I was building so that I would be able to show off that I was one of the lucky ones to try this one out early.
Brickapolis is hosting the sheer quantity of photos I took on his Flickr photostream, and he has more photos of the convention (including the following partially-built shots of Fire Brigade):
OK, so I might have let someone else handle the roof - but this is definitely a must-have set.
Well was it any good?
ReplyDeleteYes! It was amazing - everything I'd come to expect from these building, and the furniture was even nicer than I was expecting!
ReplyDeleteVery cool! How does it compare to CC, MS, and GG in terms of build experience and aesthetics? Is it a must-have for an adult modular building junkie?
ReplyDeleteIn terms of build experience, it's in league more with the Grocer than the earlier buildings. The furniture is clever, and the architectural techniques are pretty wild too.
ReplyDeleteIn terms of aesthetics - it's unfortunate that they didn't use dark tan bricks the whole way around the first floor. That makes the sides look a bit silly (but that can be covered up by putting other buildings on either side).
I would say it is a must-have. There are a few places (particularly on the engine) where things seem to have been done in a needlessly expensive way, but overall I'd say it's worth the price tag.
