These creations are by peachtree. I can definately see some 'rules' for add-ons beginning to form themselves - e.g. 16 studs wide - interchangable storeys with tiles for easy removal.
It's funny you mention "rules". This week our local LUG is working on planning out our first train show layout for September so I have been thinking a lot about modularity and dispays.
I don't like the new system because it doesn't work well with the road plates. I also have a preference for studded sidewalks.
I love the new buildings but I am planning to change how they are mounted on baseplates and replace the tiles with traditional studded sidewalks.
I found it really difficult to build my first model maily due to the windows and the width of the front. My other models have been harder (see 'reject' post). I think, at the end of the day, I should just build what looks good and realistic.
Who knows - maybe they will bring out special road plates???
Please could you add this blog to your web page and tell your LUG all about it - I would love to have as many contibuters as possible.
