Grand White Apartments

What can I say, nexus7 needs no presentation, he has been contributing with MOC's to the blog almost since its beginning.

Check out his new building in which he uses whites and grays to make a cool and realistic looking building.

Also see his other pictures of the MOC.

The rebelrock corner

As some of you may know, rebelrock is mostly known because of his jawdropping castle MOC's. However he isn't all about castle and he has built this corner building full of cool details.

And although rebelrock probably has lots of bricks, he mostly used pieces from the 4954 creator set.

So enjoy and check out his other MOC's.

Oh and he is also a member of Builders Lounge.

More buildings!

Hi, I hope you all had a happy Christmas and also a lot of LEGO. But Christmas was yesterday so we are back to the routine.

Finding CC style buildings in Brickshelf has become harder and harder these days, but luckly I found some buildings of a Builders Lounge member on Flickr.

So here it is, the street standard that we all love and a couple of gorgeous buildings. These were made by thebrickbin and you can see more on his Flickr folder.

Happy Holidays

Have a Wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year from Richard and Roger

We'd love to here what you get for Christmas - so be sure to leave a message... And Jamie - a huge thank you for starting all this off (any News gratefully received).

Ypsilanti Heritage Festival 2007

And another LEGO event on the AFOL world. This one shows an amazing and hyper-detailed city layout that has got a few buildings that would look really good side by side with the Cafe Corner.

I'm talking about the ones on the right of the picture.

Found these pictures in lar's gallery.

Svberckm's Block

Five buildings made by svberckm (that's a tough name to remember.) I particularly like the red and blue one those two colors work really great together. And also notice that the walls on this one are made out of plates, which gives it some more realism.

New Sets....

I didn't buy any, but I saw 5 new LEGO sets today. Pretty speedy for UK. This plane was in Woolworths in Luton, and I saw the two more expensive Indiana Jones sets, the police surveillance lorry and the new police station £50 in Luton Toys R Us. I didn't think to take a photograph of them - wish I had. can't remember the other prices - sorry.

A breathtaking yellow

Look at this! With a majority of yellow bricks matija was able to make this detailed and balanced building that uses some techniques that I didn't even know!

Great work matija!

Module IX - Italian Restaurant

Hi all!

A patch with more bricks was released for LDD so I've decided to try to use them on a CC style building, well at least some of them...

I've started with the idea of making a colorful building because one of the things people said about my other buildings was that they were to "grey"

So here it is, I'll call it the Italian Restaurant because it looks like some seen in mafia movies. It would also look good in the coast zone of a city.

Enjoy and comment because this is always a work in progress.

New Windows Finally!!!

The new windows can be seen clearly on the upper floor of the second picture.

The French Hotel

Look at this gorgeous CC style building! I must admit that the thing that I like the most is the ultra detailed 1st floor! But see the rest of the folder because Yurikostar didn't just make one version of this beauty, and there are plenty of other pictures of its interiors!

Flower Shop by Nexus7

Nexus7 created another great CC style MOC, this time a florist. Love that entrance!

The Early Buildings

In 1949 LEGO produced bricks different from those we are used to nowadays, these were the primitive Automatic Binding Bricks.

They are very rare these days, however my buddy Conchas could get some of these in order to make a building that resembles a style of houses common in a Portuguese region called Alentejo.

He says that building with these bricks is actually very hard and takes a lot of patience. What if Brick Town Talk had been created in 1949? :D

More photos here.

A steampunk that earns the right to be on this blog

Well, things have been kind of quite around here since there are no CC style MOC's floating around BS. So here is a MOC so gorgeous that it could be easly turned into a city MOC.

This MOC won a prize of "Best Steampunk" but it's not just a great steampunk model, it's also a MOC that any CC fan would apreciate. Those buildings just look great! Exellent color balance and great techniques for buildings never seen before.

So here it is on Kevin “Kevoh” Blocksidge's Website.

Might as well see the rest of the site ;)

Good Work!

A work in progress....

Well I got tired of making digital buildings so I started this one in real world bricks.

It's really a small part of the building, however this is part of a group project (it's secret for now).

Enjoy.

Now got to go to school. :(

Its like heaven on Earth...

Not only am I over-the-moon that designers from my generation are at the reigns of LEGO now... They put together a set of my favourite car of all time.

Congratulations again LEGO. I believe from the article that Steen had a lot to do with this one. Love the colours. It looks a fair size too. It will be released in the second half of the year - can't wait.

I can feel another Blog coming on for all the colour variations (flower power etc) that will be put together by the fans.

Impressive

Not exactly CC Style - but worth an entry on the Blog. I've been away for a week in Yorkshire with the kids from my class. Its good to be back. News / pictures of The Green Grocers must be coming out soon. I'm also looking forward to Cafe Corner being Christmasised by LEGO fans around the world.

Good news from LEGO HQ

I had to move these comments into the main Blog - just in case you haven't read them yet. Can't wait for more news Jamie.

Your extended version of the cinema is fun! My original sketch model of that building was about 5 bricks taller than the final released version. We decided it was worth reducing its size in order to add extra minifigures to the set. More to share perhaps once Town Plan is officially released in

Thanks guys... Good to hear from you. Thanks for your comment Jamie. I like the smaller details like the popcorn stand and the gumball machine. The garage is spot on too. I'm looking forward to finding out how the cinema sign is attached. Did you have any say in the design of the new clear door? Any news gratefully received.

jamie said...

Heya Brick Street, I did not have any say in the door design because that was handled by another group with in the company. You bring smiles to my face with the compliments for the two buildings I designed. Town Plan was actually worked on by 3 different people. I did the cinema and gas station, Steen did the town hall and fountain and Jorgen did the gas pumps and two Vehicles. More info to come as the launch date grows near... :)

Akos Corner

Hi all! Here's the contribution from Akos on one of his club events. Nice work!

Some simple and nice buildings

Hi again! From petertje-lego's gallery. These are small but detailed and the color scheme looks just great.
Nice work.

Check out these buildings!

Hi all! Found this simple but gorgeous corner building on piszkosfreddy's gallery. I really love that corner roof effect.

And in general the whole layout is really cool and detailed.

Just an idea

I had a play around with the cinema from 10184... I think it also needs some windows in the upper floors. Please leave a comment... we haven't had any for ages. Richard.

Great Design and a bit of Fun

Hotel by me...

For those of you who are interested in such things - I am slowly putting together a layout in my loft - and here is one of the models. You may have seen this model in progress before in an earlier entry. This one is a complete re-build (one brick wider than the original).
http://bricktowntalk.blogspot.com/2007/09/seaside-hotels.html I haven't had much time to build recently, so this hotel is a bit of an achievement for me. I have decided to expand the size of the layout (twice the size) as I have the space. One half will be a seaside layout, the other a busy city with an added on dock and railway section (mostly because I have been inspred by the fantastic models posted on Brickshelf and visiting LEGOLAND Windsor and STEAM). It would be fantastic to hear from anyone, please make a comment.
Richard.

My lighthouse

Well guys, as some of you know I'm not just about CC style buildings. So here I present a MOC I made some time ago. It's a traditional red and white lighthouse, and it's the version 3.1. Although it's not a CC style MOC, it's still a town MOC right? Anyways it has been recently modded so enjoy and leave your comments.

Voyagetom's yellow building

A question: don't you just love this building? It's great! I can't get tired of looking at it. As us that make CC style buildings know that yellow buildings are not easy to look realistic. Congratulations voyagetom!

At it again!

See more at Nexus7's gallery.
